ESTONIAN E-MEDIA REGISTER & CREATIVE ID SYSTEM

Creative work needs protection, and E-Residency may be the answer.

What if you had a digital creative fingerprint that said “Property Of So-and-So”? A creative signature and use agreement - embedded into the work itself, like DNA - able to be used by creative media suites, online media marketplaces and IP professionals.

Today, we have the technology to create such a system, but no governance has stepped up to make this a public offering. That is, until Estonia stepped in. With a penchant for tech and its globally inclusive E-Residency program, Estonia stood out as the perfect incubator for such an idea.

E-Residency, the first-of-its-kind program, offers digital Estonian citizenship and global access to Estonia’s innovative and highly protected online business environment. Utilizing this extant identification system and combining it with X-ROAD, Estonia’s powerful blockchain platform which houses and distributes all public data - we proposed a supportive suite for digital media protection in Estonia and beyond.

Research & Design were completed for the Estonian Government, in partnership with the Estonian E-Residency team and colleague Karolina Lehtma of the Estonian Academy of Arts.
